Netflix’s Wednesday has been renewed for Season 3.

The news came via director Tim Burton and series star Jenna Ortega in an interview with THR, on Wednesday, July 23. Burton also dropped an additional nugget: A spin-off series is in early discussion stages.

The dark comedy series returns for a second season on August 6 with episodes 1-4, before dropping the episodes 5-8 on Sept. 3, 2025.

This season Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await.

In Season 2 Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.

Joining the cast in Season 2 is Steve Buscemi as Principal Dort. Buscemi joins Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Owen Painter as Slurp, Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Sheriff Rita Santiago, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Noah B. Taylor as Bruno, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams and Evie Templeton as Agnes DeMille.

Wednesday is created and showrun by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and executive produced and directed by Tim Burton. Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson also direct.
