It’s Gaal vs The Mule in this first look at Season 3 of Foundation.

The acclaimed scifi series officially returns to Apple TV+ in July with a 10-episode third season. A global debut sees the premiere episode dropping on Friday, July 11, followed by new episodes weekly, every Friday through September 12.

Based on Isaac Asimov’s award-winning stories and led by Jared Harris, Lee Pace and star Lou Llobell, season 3 picks up 152 years following the events of season two.

Apple teases that the Foundation has become increasingly established far beyond its humble beginnings while the Cleonic Dynasty’s Empire has dwindled. As both of these galactic powers forge an uneasy alliance, a threat to the entire galaxy appears in the fearsome form of a warlord known as The Mule (Pilou Asbæk), whose sights are set on ruling the universe by use of physical and military force as well as mind control.

It’s anyone’s guess who will win, who will lose, who will live and who will die as Hari Seldon, Gaal Dornick, the Cleons and Demerzel play a potentially deadly game of intergalactic chess.

Can Empire and Foundation put aside their centuries-long struggle and come together to defeat the greatest threat to civilization the universe has ever known? Debatable, but at least Harry and Gaal are on the case!

Season 3 introduces a slew of new characters including Cherry Jones, Brandon P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Tómas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig, Troy Kotsur, and with Pilou Asbæk as the enigmatic Mule.

The series also stars returning cast Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Rowena King.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Foundation are now streaming globally on Apple TV+.
