Following on from that intriguing teaser for Squid Game’s third and final act comes a first full length trailer for the upcoming season.

Airing June 27, the series picks up from the events of the Season 2 finale in which saw Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), and his friends’ attempted rebellion crushed. Now the players face an even more stressful collection of games, cruelly designed to divide their fragile camaraderie, under the watchful eyes of the Front Man and the VIPs.

“He is in utter despair after losing everything and watching all his efforts go in vain,” Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Netflix. “The story then takes an interesting turn, questioning whether Gi-hun can overcome his shame and rise again to prove that values of humanity — like conscience and kindness — can exist in the arena.”

Meanwhile, Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who concealed his true identity and purpose last season may be about to reveal himself this season. The actor promises “an explosion of dramatic intensity,” while the trailer below sees Front Man removing his mask to ask (via voiceover) “Player 456, do you still have faith in people?”

Will we see a final showdown between both characters? or will Front Man’s reckoning come at the hands of his younger brother Jun-ho (by Wi Ha-joon), who has spent the last three seasons in search of answers as to his disappearance.

Team X or Team O? Right or left? Red light or green light? And what about that monstrous game of jump rope? With a slew of life-or-death choices to make, and not much time to decide, Squid Game’s brutal competition is racing to a bloody finish line.
