Ted Lasso may have already begun filming on its unexpected and fortuitous fourth season. That’s according to Nick Mohammed (coach Nate Shelley). Kinda.
The Ted Lasso actor took to X as his character Mr Swallow from his upcoming comedy tour Show Pony to let fans know certain key dates have been rescheduled to due to “some filming I have not been able to shift for love nor money.”
“I cannot say what that filming is. But it will be announced shortly,” he added before briefly flashing the iconic “BELIEVE” poster that adorned the wall of the locker room for 3 seasons of Ted Lasso.
Winner of 13 Emmy awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022, the series follows Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) as an American football coach who arrives in London to coach an English soccer squad without knowing anything about the sport. But what Ted lacks in knowledge, he make up with optimism. And biscuits.
Although the show was originally conceived as a 3 season story, the third season, which aired in March 2023, was never referred to as the show’s last, leaving fans with the impression there may be more Ted Lasso to come, despite Season 3’s very happy ending for all of its characters, and contingent on a fresh take going forward.
In addition to Sudeikis, the series also stars Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster, Nick Mohammed, and Sarah Niles.
The series is written and executive proceeded by Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence, with Jeff Ingold, and Liza Katzer also serving as executive producers.
