June on Apple TV+ sees the streamer hoping to recreate a little of that Ted Lasso lightning-in-a-bottle magic with new sports comedy series Stick, starring Owen Wilson and and Peter Dager.

Meanwhile, Season 2 of romantic period drama The Buccaneers kicks off on June 18 with Apple TV promising sisterhood, romance, wit, steamy love affairs, extravagant gowns, spectacular landscapes and jaw-dropping plot twists.

Things get serious on June 27 in the Taron Egerton-starring Smoke. Based on true events (i.e. inspired by truth.media’s acclaimed Firebug podcast), the new series follows a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator (Jurnee Smollett) as they pursue the trails of two serial arsonists.

And if you’re in the mood for something longer, there’s always new movie Echo Valley, debuting on Apple TV+ on June 13. This movie follows the complicated relationship between mother and addict daughter (Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney), whose lives are thrown into chaos when Sweeney’s Claire admits to murdering her boyfriend.

NEW SERIES

STICK (June 4)

This 10-episode comedy series stars Owen Wilson as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago.

After the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi (Peter Dager).

The series is described as a a heartfelt, feel-good sports comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before.

In addition to Wilson and Dager, the ensemble cast includes Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer and Timothy Olyphant, and features guest appearances from golf superstars such as Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa, Wyndham Clark and more. Additional cameos include broadcasters Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman, Good Good’s Matt Scharff, Brad Dalke and Garrett Clark, as well as golf enthusiast Dan Rapaport.
Stick was created by Jason Keller and executive produced by Owen Wilson.

The series makes its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on Wednesday, June 4, followed by one new episode every Wednesday, through July 23, 2025.

THE BUCCANEERS (June 18)

An eight-episode second season of Bridgerton-esque The Buccaneers will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with one episode on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through August 6, 2025.

In the first season a group of fun-loving young American girls exploded into the tightly corseted London of the 1870s, setting hearts racing and kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash.

Now the Buccaneers are no longer the invaders — England is their home. In fact, they’re practically running the place. Nan is the Duchess of Tintagel, the most influential woman in the country. Conchita is Lady Brightlingsea, heroine to a wave of young American heiresses. And Jinny is on every front page, wanted for the kidnapping of her unborn child.

All of the girls have been forced to grow up and now have to fight to be heard, as they wrestle with romance, lust, jealousy, births and deaths … themes that consume all women of any age, no matter what year it is.

SMOKE (June 27)

This nine-episode series premieres globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, June 27, 2025 with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday through August 15, 2025.

Inspired by true events, Smoke follows a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator as they pursue the trails of two serial arsonists.

Starring Taron Egerton as arson investigator Dave Gudsen and Jurnee Smollett as police detective Michelle Calderone, Smoke also features Rafe Spall, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Hannah Emily Anderson, Emmy Award nominee Anna Chlumsky, Adina Porter, Greg Kinnear, and John Leguizamo.

ECHO VALLEY (June 13)

Echo Valley is a thriller starring Julianne Moore as Kate, a mother struggling to make peace with her troubled daughter Claire (Sydney Sweeney). However their situation becomes even more perilous when Claire shows up on Kate’s doorstep, hysterical and covered in someone else’s blood.

As Kate pieces together the shocking truth of what happened, she learns just how far a mother will go to try to save her child in what Apple TV+ dubs a “gripping tale of love, sacrifice and survival.”

The film is from BAFTA-winning director Michael Pearce and Emmy-nominated writer Brad Ingelsby.
