August is shaping up to be a something for everyone month on Apple TV+. New drama comes in the form of the epic Chief of War, dropping August 1st, and written, directed, executive-produced and starring Jason Momoa.
Sci-fi drama Invasion returns for a third season, along with the Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen-starring comedy Platonic, now entering its second season.
There’s also a slew of animated entries for the younger ones including Stillwater (Season 4), Shape Island (Season 2), and Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical.

CHIEF OF WAR (August 1)
Set in late 18th-century Hawai‘i, this new nine-episode series follows warrior Ka‘iana (Jason Momoa) as he seeks to unify the islands before Western colonization. The story follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawai‘i at the turn of the 18th century.
Based on true events and told from an indigenous perspective, the show premieres globally on Apple TV+ with two episodes on August 1, 2025, followed by weekly episodes through September 19.
STILLWATER (August 1)
Season 4 of the heartfelt children’s animated series debuts Aug 1. Siblings Karl, Addy and Michael have a very special next-door neighbor: a wise panda named Stillwater, voiced by James Sie. His friendship and stories give them new perspectives on the world, themselves, and each other.
PLATONIC (August 6)
Co-created, directed and co-written by Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, Platonic season two picks up with everyone’s favorite pair of best friends (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) as they contend with new midlife hurdles, including work, weddings and partners in crises.
The duo tries their best to be each other’s rock — but sometimes rocks break things. The season two cast also includes Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo, and introduces Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett as guest stars.
SNOOPY PRESENTS: A SUMMER MUSICAL (August 15)
A musical special about the joy and magic of summer camp and the importance of preserving what you love. Charlie Brown loves camp and is determined to make his final year special, but Sally, a first-time camper, is nervous and skeptical of the new and unfamiliar place. While everyone settles into camp, Snoopy and Woodstock discover a treasure map that takes them on a wild adventure nearby.
INVASION (August 22)
Season 3: This science fiction drama follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. Set across multiple continents, season three sees the return of cast members Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Shane Zaza, Enver Gjokaj and Billy Barratt, in addition to introducing new series regular Erika Alexander.
SHAPE ISLAND (August 29)
Three best friends, Circle (voiced by Gideon Adlon), Triangle (voiced by Scott Adsit) and Square (voiced by Harvey Guillén), seek adventure and connection while learning how to navigate each other’s differences.
Based on the books by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen.
