With programming announcements from the ‘Big 4’ Broadcast Networks officially wrapped for the summer, it’s time to look ahead to Fall to see where, when, and exactly how all the new and returning shows will fit into the weekly TV slate.
The drama and comedy slate officially kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 16 2025, with the return of High Potential to ABC. Last season saw Grimm and A Million Little Things star David Giuntoli stepping into some villain shoes in the finale episode, and looking likely to act as an interesting foil to Kaitlin Olson’s Morgan this year.
But what else is coming down the pipeline? Well, Mondays are set to feature Brilliant Minds on NBC (promptly kicking off the week following High Potential’s premiere) as well as FBI and Watson from CBS later in October.
Doc and Murder in a Small Town (FOX) both return in September for sophomore seasons on Tuesday nights, with competition from CBS’ NCIS trio later in October.
Most of the slate looks comfortably familiar on Wednesday with the return of the long-running One Chicago franchise, and Thursday with the even longer running Law & Order franchise on NBC, while ABC pairs Thursday night’s offerings of 9-1-1, and new drama 9-1-1: Nashville as a lead in to Grey’s Anatomy.
Meanwhile Matlock and Elsbeth (CBS) join the Thursday night schedule later in October.
Fridays are strong on CBS, with Fire Country, and spin-offs Sheriff Country and Boston Blue all hitting our screens in late October. Sunday features a strong animated comedy block in the form of The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Krapopolis and more.
Joining the lineup in 2025 are new dramas and comedies 9-1-1: Nashville (ABC), DMV (CBS), Sheriff County (CBS), and Boston Blue (also CBS.)
Meanwhile, previously announced shows such as the Tom Ellis-starring CIA, the Patrick Dempsey-starring Memory of a Killer (FOX), one hour comedy series Best Medicine (also from FOX), and the Yellowstone universe-set Y: Marshals (CBS), are set to appear mid-season (feasibly anywhere from January to March 2026).
