“Obi-Wan Kenobi” Begins Production

Cast Announced for Disney’s Upcoming Obi-Wan Event Series

With Disney+ and Lucasfilm about to begin production on their latest Star Wars venture, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a slew of new cast member announcements have hit the headlines in recent days.

Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie will all be joining the previously announced Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, who are set to reprise their iconic roles as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, which begins shooting in April, is set 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The event series is directed by Deborah Chow, director of two episodes of The Mandalorian Season 1.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and writer Joby Harold.

The casting director is Carmen Cuba.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available exclusively on Disney+.
