Looks like Doctor Robby is pulling a double shift.
Per Max, the groundbreaking new medical drama series The Pitt, starring Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, has been renewed for Season 2.
Speaking on the renewal, Sarah Aubrey, Head of Max Original Programming, said in a statement “It’s been a thrill to watch audiences embrace The Pitt as an update to procedural storytelling with a cast who authentically embody the heroics of doctors and nurses on shift in a 2025 emergency room. Our collaboration with John Wells, R. Scott Gemmill, Noah Wyle and Warner Bros. Television has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and we are excited to continue down this path with another season.”
Series star Noah Wyle added “We’re excited and delighted with the audience response for our first season of The Pitt and can’t be more appreciative of our partners at Max and Warner Bros. Television for all of their extraordinary support throughout our first season.”
The series, is a warts-and-all examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Each episode follows an hour of Dr. Robby’s (Wyle) 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s emergency room.
The Pitt also stars Tracey Ifeachor (Dr. Collins), Patrick Ball (Dr. Langdon), Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans), Supriya Ganesh (Dr. Mohan), Fiona Dourif (Dr. McKay), Taylor Dearden (Dr. King), Isa Briones (Dr. Santos), Gerran Howell (Whitaker), and Shabana Azeez (Javadi).
Since its debut, the series is the streamer’s most-watched title globally.
TVPulse Magazine dubbed The Pitt “compelling TV,” saying “Networks, ever in search of the next big show, particularly the next big doctor drama, might want to take note. The Pitt has done that thing — made us change the way we view a genre — and there’s no going back now.”
The Pitt, from John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television, is created by R. Scott Gemmill. New episodes of the 15-episode first season currently air Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET with the show’s first season finale airing on April 10.
