Following on from HBO’s first look at IT prequel Welcome to Derry, comes a second more in-depth look at the upcoming horror series debuting this fall.

From Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, the filmmakers behind both IT, and IT Chapter Two, and Jason Fuchs (IT Chapter Two) the series promises to take viewers back to where it all began in Derry, Maine 1962.

The events of the series, focusing on a family who settle in Derry and experience its unique brand of unsettling weirdness firsthand, take place 27 years before the events of the 2017 film IT (which was set in 1989).

The time jump aligns with the 27-year cycle of Pennywise’s appearances in Stephen King’s IT universe, with the show promising to explore both the history of Derry, and the origins of Pennywise the Clown during this period.

The series stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård.

will debut on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. Andy Muschietti will direct multiple episodes of the original series.

Fuchs, who wrote the teleplay for the first episode, and Kane serve as co-showrunners on the project.

IT: Welcome to Derry is produced by HBO and Warner Bros. Television. It debuts this fall on HBO, and will stream on HBO Max.
