Not every month can feature a Severance-level event, but that doesn’t mean Apple TV+ isn’t worth checking out in April.

On the ticket this month, from April 11, is the Jon Hamm-starring Your Friends and Neighbors. Hamm takes on the role of Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a man who begins to steal from his neighbors in the wake of severe financial straits. However, Coop soon discovers his neighbors’ secrets may be worth more than their possessions.

Meanwhile, Surrealist comedy series Government Cheese, kicking off on April 16, takes us back to 1969 where the quirky Chambers family pursue a series of lofty and seemingly impossible dreams, beautifully unfettered by the realities of the world.

Finally, season 3 of family friendly Jane sees environmentalist Jane joined by conservationist, Dr. Jane Goodall. Brace yourself for 5 episodes of feel-good.

YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS (April 11)

Your Friends and Neighbors: Jon Hamm

After being fired in disgrace, a hedge fund manager (Jon Hamm) still grappling with his recent divorce, resorts to stealing from his neighbors’ homes in the exceedingly affluent Westmont Village, only to discover that the secrets and affairs hidden behind those wealthy facades might be more dangerous than he ever imagined.

Also starring are Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Marie Gravitt and Donovan Colan.

Already renewed for a second season, a nine-episode first season will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with two episodes on Friday, April 11, followed by one new episode weekly through Friday, May 30. 

GOVERNMENT CHEESE (April 16)

Government Cheese is a surrealist family comedy set in 1969 San Fernando Valley that tells the story of the Chambers, a quirky family pursuing lofty and seemingly impossible dreams, beautifully unfettered by the realities of the world.

When Hampton Chambers (David Oyelowo) is released from prison, his long-awaited family reunion doesn’t go quite as he’d planned. During his absence, Hampton’s wife, Astoria (Simone Missick), and sons, Einstein (Evan Ellison) and Harrison (Jahi Di’Allo Winston), have formed an unconventional family unit, and Hampton’s return spins their world into chaos.

The 10-episode comedy will make its global debut on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, April 16, with the first four episodes, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through May 28, 2025. 

JANE (April 18)

Jane: Mason Blomberg, Ava Louise Murchison and Greybeard the chimpanzee.

Season 3. Jane, a 9-year-old budding environmentalist on a quest to save endangered animals. Using her powerful imagination, Jane takes her best friends David and Greybeard the chimpanzee on epic adventures to help protect wild animals all around the world because, according to her idol Dr. Jane Goodall: “Only if we understand, will we care. Only if we care, will we help. Only if we help, can they be saved.”

The mission-driven series for kids and families is inspired by the work of world-renowned ethologist and conservationist, Dr. Jane Goodall, who makes a special appearance in the highly anticipated third season

The five-episode, third installment of Jane premieres globally on Friday, April 18 on Apple TV+.
