NBC is the last of the Big 5 Networks to deliver its outlook for mid-season. The programming slate springs back into form in January, 2022 with the sixth and final season of This is Us from Tuesday, Jan. 4. Tuesdays will feature new comedy pairing American Auto and Grand Crew. The Chicago Fire, Med, and PD franchises remain unaltered for Wednesdays. However, Thursdays will see all Law and Order franchises, including the new reboot of the original Law and Order series, airing back to back in a solid programming block. Meanwhile, The Blacklist is set move back to its Friday night time slot in March for the second half of Season 9. Previously announced shows that have been ordered to series but not yet dated include The Wheel, L.A. Fire and Rescue, AGT Extreme and Night Court. LIMITED SERIES THE THING ABOUT PAM NBC’s “The Thing About Pam” is based on the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria that resulted in her husband Russ’s conviction, although he insisted he didn’t kill her. His conviction was later overturned. This brutal crime set off a chain of events that would expose a diabolical scheme deeply involving Pam Hupp. A thorough examination of the scheme was featured on several episodes of “Dateline NBC,” becoming one of the most popular topics to ever air on the hit NBC franchise. It also became the subject of a popular 2019 podcast, “The Thing About Pam,” which remains one of the most downloaded podcasts on iTunes.
