NeoBards Entertainment and Konami have just dropped a new story trailer for upcoming Japanese psychological horror Silent Hill f.
Sporting the tagline ‘find the beauty in terror’ the game sees young student Hinako Shimizu’s secluded town of Ebisugaoka consumed by a sudden fog that transforms her once-familiar home into a haunting nightmare.
As the town falls silent and the fog thickens, Hinako must navigate the twisted paths of Ebisugaoka, solving complex puzzles and confronting grotesque monsters to survive.
The story trailer offers intriguing hints as to the nature of Hinako’s predicament, suggesting that before the fog rolled in, she saved the life of a mysterious masked stranger. The opening footage shows a bloody crime scene with police sirens wailing in the background. We don’t know much about the mysterious otherworldly stranger but he tells Hinako:
“You saved my life and laid claim to my soul. In turn, I shall save your soul by claiming the life of your old self.” which we are choosing to view as a mixed blessing.

Is the stranger/guide real, or has Hinako begun a descent into madness and violence? Are the frightful monsters she sees actually there, or is she taking up arms against her friends and family? A reassuring female voice later in the story trailer advises her “You’re going to kill them with your own hands,” shortly before Hinako arrives home to find an identical version of herself.
Konami invites players to “Immerse yourself into Hinako’s world as imagined by renowned author Ryukishi07, with entrancing soundscapes by Akira Yamaoka and beautiful visuals in a gripping tale of doubt, regret, and inescapable choices.”
Will Hinako embrace the beauty hidden within terror, or succumb to the madness that lies ahead?
Silent Hill f debuts September 25 for for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
