Serial killer drama You finally has a premiere date for its fifth and final season.

The show will officially return with 10 new episodes on April 24, 2025 for a final run that will see Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) making a return to New York, his beloved books, and of course his sinister cage.

Season four’s finale saw everyone’s favorite serial killer once again getting away with it, with Joe defeating his inner demons (in the form of Ed Speleers’ Rhys), and winning both the affections and loyalty of Kate (Charlotte Ritchie), who was ultimately kind of ok with Joe’s murderous past in the end.

Season 5 will feature Bronte (Madeline Brewer), described as an “enigmatic and free-spirited playwright who comes to work at Joe Goldberg’s new bookstore,” … and you can see where this is going, right?

Netflix’s loglines for the final season tease “Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.”

In the video teaser unveiled by Netflix today, voiceover Joe reflects on his return, remarking “Here we are, together again, back to where it began. A lot has happened these many years together — identities, cities, loves, complications — but all that led me here, to now, to where I was always meant to be. And the one constant, the one thing that’s always been there for me, is you. You, who have been there the whole time and will be there with me until the end. Goodbye, you.”

Of course there are any number of people Joe could be talking to in the monologue, including some in witness protection, and others in jail. A brief montage shows us some of Joe’s previous prisoners including Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), ex wife Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), Marienne Bellamy (Tati Gabrielle), Kate Galvin (Charlotte Richie), Benji (Lou Taylor Pucci), Cary (Travis Van Winkle) and Sherry Conrad (Shalita Grant), and Delilah Alves (Carmela Zumbado).

There is already some speculation that Joe is talking himself, or reflecting on his own inevitable demise. The final clip shows Joe inside the glass-walled box. A fitting end after all the slaughter?
