Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale finally draws to an end with its sixth and final season starting Tuesday April 8, 2025.

The long-running series is adapted from the short novel by Margaret Atwood, and tells the story of June/Offred (Elisabeth Moss) a woman living in the totalitarian and oppressive society of Gilead, some time in the near future.

As one of the few fertile women left in the world, women like June are known as Handmaids. June’s story shows her struggle to survive as a reproductive surrogate for a powerful Commander and his resentful wife.

In the upcoming final season June’s unyielding spirit and determination pull her back into the fight to take down Gilead. Luke and Moira join the resistance. Serena tries to reform Gilead while Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia reckon with what they have wrought, and Nick faces challenging tests of character.

Hulu teases that the final chapter of June’s journey highlights the importance of hope, courage, solidarity, and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom.

The Handmaid’s Tale stars Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine, and Josh Charles.

The series is produced by MGM Television.

Season Six is executive produced by Bruce Miller, Warren Littlefield, Eric Tuchman, Yahlin Chang, Elisabeth Moss, Sheila Hockin, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Steve Stark, Kim Todd, Daniel Wilson, and Fran Sears.
