How I met Your Mother star Jason Segel is set to co-write and star in new comedy series Shrinking, alongside Ted Lasso writer Bill Lawrence and Ted Lasso writer/star Brett Goldstein.

The new Apple TV+ series will follow a grieving therapist (played by Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks.

Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own.

Shrinking will be produced by Warner Bros. Television, where Lawrence is under an overall deal, and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions.

Segel, Lawrence and Goldstein all serve as writers and executive producers, with Jeff Ingold as executive producer, and Liza Katzer as co-executive producer.

Shrinking is the second Apple Original starring Segel, who is also next set to star in Apple Original Films’ highly anticipated The Sky is Everywhere, based on the best-selling YA Novel of the same name.

Shrinking will join existing Apple TV+ comedies Schmigadoon!, Physical, Dickinson, Mythic Quest, Central Park and the upcoming The Shrink Next Door.
