The six-episode drama, based on a chilling true story, is set to premiere globally in 2027
Paramount+ has officially greenlit Fear Not, a new six-part limited series starring and executive produced by Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway. Written by Bash Doran (Outlaw King, Boardwalk Empire), the series will premiere worldwide on Paramount+ in 2027.
Based on true events, Fear Not tells the harrowing and deeply human story of Stephen Morin, a prolific serial killer accused of more crimes than Ted Bundy, and the extraordinary relationship he formed with Margy Palm (Hathaway), the last woman he ever kidnapped. What began as a terrifying captive situation took an unexpected turn, defined by compassion, prayer, and profound courage.
Palm’s unwavering faith and belief that Morin could be redeemed transformed their relationship, forging a bond that endured long after she was returned to safety, and lasting until Morin ultimately received the death penalty. The series explores this unlikely connection through the lens of Palm’s lived experience, offering a nuanced and emotionally grounded perspective on a chilling true story.
“At Paramount+, we are always looking for stories that captivate and entertain our audience, and this series will do exactly that,” said Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+. “By grounding this chilling true story in the lived experience of our protagonist, Anne is bringing a level of nuance and gravity to the screen that only a performer of her caliber can. We are thrilled to collaborate with Anne, Bash, and the rest of this illustrious team and we can’t wait for viewers to see what is sure to be an enthralling limited series.”
Fear Not is produced by MGM Television and based on the Vanity Fair article “Sympathy for the Devil” by Julie Miller. The series is executive produced by Bash Doran, Steve Stark, and Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures; Helen Estabrook for Vanity Fair Studios; Anne Hathaway, Adam Shulman, and Johnathan Rice for Somewhere Pictures; as well as Margy, Bart, and Noelle Palm.
Hathaway continues to be one of Hollywood’s most in-demand talents, with a busy slate ahead. In 2026, she is set to appear in Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, Verity, and Flowervale Street.
