July on HBO MAX may not feature any new TV dramas, but the streamer makes up for it with a slew of films, a couple of documentaries, and of course the usual library of treats.
Sinners features Michael B. Jordan as twin brothers facing a dark homecoming, while On Becoming a Guinea Fowl uncovers family secrets with a surreal twist. Opus delves into a mysterious pop star’s world with Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich, and I Love You Forever offers a sharp take on a troubled romance. Death of a Unicorn pairs Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega in a quirky tale of a magical accident. Documentaries include Dear Ms.: A Revolution in Print, exploring the impact of Ms. magazine, and Billy Joel: And So It Goes, a two-part look at the musician’s life and work. SINNERS (July 4)
Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (both played by Michael B. Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
Also starring are Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, and Delroy Lindo.

ON BECOMING A GUINEA FOWL (July 4)
On an empty road in the middle of the night, Shula stumbles across the body of her uncle. As funeral proceedings begin around them, she and her cousins bring to light the buried secrets of their middle-class Zambian family, in filmmaker Rungano Nyoni’s surreal and vibrant reckoning with the lies we tell ourselves.
