Disney + has given a green light to Echo, a new spin-off series based around Marvel’s Hawkeye, which itself has yet to premiere.

The news came today as part of Disney’s “Disney + Day” celebrating the streamer’s second birthday.

Echo will star Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, who is set to be introduced during Hawkeye‘s six-episode run.

In the comic series, Echo is a deaf Native American martial artist with the ability to perfectly replicate her adversaries’ moves and fighting techniques.

Hawkeye premieres Wednesday, Nov. 24 on the streamer. The new Marvel mini series follows in the footsteps of WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…? and stars Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, who teams up with another well-known archer from the Marvel comics, Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld.

The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James.

Florence Pugh, last seen as Yelena Belova in Black Widow, is also set to appear.
