The winners of the 82nd Golden Globes awards are here.

Last night’s star-studded event made history as host Nikki Glaser became the first female solo host of the ceremony. While the night fetched film success for Emilia Perez, The Brutalist and Wicked, the TV category saw clear winners for Shōgun, which scooped Best Actor (Hiroyuki Sanada), and Best Actress (Anna Sawai) in a Drama Series awards, as well as Best Supporting Actor for Tadanobu Asano, and the award for Best Drama Series overall. In a night of firsts, Hiroyuki Sanada also became the first Asian actor (and also the first Japanese actor) to ever win in the Best Actor in the Drama category.

Another international series, Baby Reindeer, also scooped the Best Limited Series Award, along with a win for Jessica Gunning for Best Supporting Actress.

Shōgun and Baby Reindeer’s success, along with Squid Game’s nomination in the Best TV Series category this year shows a continued trend in international fare.

Colin Farrell (The Penguin) and Jodie Foster (True Detective: Night Country) scooped the Awards for Best Performance in a Limited Series.

Meanwhile, the comedy category saw wins for Jean Smart and Hacks, and Jeremy Allen White for The Bear. (Trivia nugget: Did you know Jeremy Allen White joins Michael J. Fox and Alan Alda in achieving the rare status of winning in the Best Comedy Actor award for three consecutive years, following his wins in 2023 and 2024?)
