Wacky sci-fi comedy series Upload finally has a premiere date for its fourth (and final) season, described as a “four part finale event” by the streamer.
The show, starring Robbie Amell and Andy Allo will return on Monday, August 25, 2025 on Prime Video. The fourth season will consist of four episodes and will, per the streamer, see sentient AI rapidly turning evil and threatening to wipe out Lakeview (and the world!). On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IRL, our characters are tested like never before. The only way they can get through it all and save humanity from deletion is by teaming up one last time.
Upload, from writer Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation, King of the Hill), is set in a technologically advanced future where holographic phones, self-driving vehicles, AI assistance, and 3D food printers are the norm.
But when it comes to dying and the afterlife it’s less about who you know and more about how much you can afford to pay. Those with the cash can upload their consciousness to a virtual reality afterlife where they can enjoy all the comforts of a world-class resort. But run short of funds and you might find yourself relegated to the basement, or facing a black and white reality, or running with less memory than your friends, or just being booted up once a year for the holidays.
The show pokes fun at technology trends, how as humans we choose to spend our time and money, and the class divide, in a humorous and heartfelt way, reminiscent of NBC’s The Good Place.
In addition to Amell as Nathan and Allo, as Nora, Upload also stars the comedic talents of Kevin Bigley as Luke, Allegra Edwards as Ingrid, Zainab Johnson as Aleesha, and Owen Daniels as A.I. Guy.
