Arrow and Heels alum Stephen Amell will headline the pilot episode of NBC’s new Suits-universe legal drama, it was revealed today.

Amell takes on the role of Ted Black in Suits L.A. a potential new series from original Suits creator Aaron Korsh with a pilot commitment at the network.

Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York is described as a “charismatic force of nature who puts his own needs above others.”

Black has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. However, now his firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.

According to an official synopsis for the potential series Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.

All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.

The Suits universe has witnessed a resurgence of interest among fans over the summer where writer and actor strikes put most shows on hiatus. Reruns of the original series quickly topped streaming records, making the show the most viewed on Netflix in 2023.

Production on Suits L.A. is scheduled to start in late March in Vancouver.
