Apple TV is saving its big guns for late May with the Tatania Maslany and Jake Johnson-starring Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, a comedy thriller about a woman who is convinced she witnessed a murder, and falls down a rabbit hole of doubt, blackmail, murder … and youth soccer. (Alan Wake fans, look out for a guest-star appearance from Matthew Porretta this season!).

Then on May 29, a limited run spin-off series to For All Mankind titled Star City” makes its debut. Expect fear, paranoia, and complex math equations as the Russians attempt to beat the Americans in the great Space Race.

But before both prestige shows air, there’s Unconditional on May 8, a series inspired by the Brittney Griner arrest in Russia in 2022. This Israeli series first debuted on Keshet 12 on April 27, before making its way to Apple TV this month.

Details, air dates, trailers below.

UNCONDITIONAL

(May 8)

Unconditional follows a mother-daughter vacation-turned-nightmare when 25-year-old Gali (Talia Lynne Ronn) is arrested for drug smuggling in Moscow. Her mother, Orna (Liraz Chamami), refuses to accept the charges — but her fight for Gali’s freedom pulls her into a deadly web of crime and corruption.

The first two episodes “Lucky Kid” and “Everyone’s Daughter” premiere May 8, followed by an episode a week thereafter.

MAXIMUM PLEASURE GUARANTEED

(May 20)

Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed follows newly divorced mom Paula (Maslany) as she falls down a dangerous rabbit hole of blackmail, murder and youth soccer. Convinced she witnessed a crime — while simultaneously struggling through a custody battle and an identity crisis — Paula begins her own investigation, one that could unravel a greater conspiracy while also holding the keys to rebuilding her family and sense of self.

The first 2 episodes, “Magnets” and “YABA” drop May 20, with all remaining episodes dropping weekly thereafter.

STAR CITY

(May 29)

A bold new chapter inspired by the critically acclaimed space-race drama, For All Mankind, Star City is a propulsive paranoid thriller that takes us back to the key moment in the alt-history retelling of the space race — when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humankind forward.

The first two episodes debut on May 29, with individual episodes dropping weekly thereafter.
