Ghost of Yōtei players have another reason (as if you needed one!) to return to Ezo this November.

Sucker Punch Productions plans a substantial free update to the base game, set to arrive on Nov. 24, 2025, and introducing New Game Plus, new customization systems, expanded accessibility features, and more.

New Game Plus will be available to all players upon completion of Atsu’s main storyline, and offers a chance to replay the full adventure with every armor set, weapon, and ability earned from the original run. That means you can step into the opening battles already equipped with late-game gear, including the firearms typically reserved for the finale.

For the purists, New Game Plus also offers

  • Higher difficulty levels for those seeking a deeper challenge
  • Two additional Trophies
  • A new progression layer with further upgrades for previously unlocked gear
  • A new currency called Ghost Flowers which can be traded with vendors for new cosmetic items including armor sets, weapon dyes and 10 new charms.

Ghost of Yōtei Review: A Surprisingly Joyful Tale of Revenge

New Game Plus is bundled in a patch that offers several “quality of life” base game improvements, including:

  • Post-game replayability: You can now revisit missions and activities after the main campaign concludes.
  • Stats display: A new interface gives clearer insight into Atsu’s performance, gear, and progression.
  • Accessibility upgrades: Directional button remapping joins the game’s growing suite of accessibility tools.
  • Photo Mode enhancements: New shutter speed controls, a composition grid, and additional filters bolster the already robust creative toolkit.

Meanwhile, Ghost of Yōtei Legends, a free co-op multiplayer mode, is planned for a 2026 release.
