In addition to the Monthly PlayStation Plus drop (this month featuring basketball sim NBC 2K25, the 2024 remake of Alone in the Dark, and quirky action-adventure skating platformer Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, all available from June 3 to Essential Tier subscribers) Sony has also announced additions to its game catalog for Premium and Extra subscribers including Destiny 2: Legacy collection and Grand Theft Auto III.

Meanwhile, the Classics Collection (Premium and Extra) features Myst and its sequel Riven, both available from June 5, and from June 17 FBC: Firebreak, Battlefield 2042, and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2.

Last but not least, players are invited to trial both try Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (PS5) or Sid Meier’s Civilization VII from May 28.

PlayStation has also earmarked May 28 at 12:01AM through June 11 at 11:59PM local time in each region as Days of Play, kicking off weeks of community activities, new content coming to PlayStation Plus, and offers on PS5 consoles, games, and accessories. MONTHLY GAMES FOR JUNE

NBA 2K25

NBA 2K25

Genre: Sports Sim | PS5, PS4 (available June 3)

NBA 2K25’s basketball sim, developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K, delivers an authentic basketball experience with enhanced gameplay mechanics, stunning visuals, and immersive modes that cater to both casual players and hardcore fans.

The game emphasizes realistic player movement, powered by ProPLAY™ technology, which refines animations, shooting mechanics, and signature moves like Go-To Shots and Pro Stick Rhythm Shooting for greater control and customization.

Despite incremental gameplay improvements, the game remains a benchmark for sports titles, blending competitive play, strategic depth, and a love for basketball culture, making it a must-play for fans aiming to stack wins and raise banners.

Alone in the Dark (2024)

Alone in the Dark (2024)

Genre: Survival Horror | PS5 (available June 3)

Dark mysteries! Cults! Ancient Rituals! This 2024 reimagining of the 1992 classic is set in the 1920s American South, and follows private investigator Edward Carnby (David Harbour) and Emily Hartwood (Jodie Comer) as they investigate the mysterious disappearance of Emily’s uncle, Jeremy, at Derceto Manor, a foreboding asylum in Louisiana shrouded in supernatural secrets.

A blend of psychological horror, noir detective themes, and cosmic horror, drawing inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft (and the original title) the game allows players to choose to play as Carnby or Hartwood, with each offering unique perspectives, exclusive scenes, and distinct campaign paths.

Gameplay focuses on exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat against grotesque creatures, with a third-person perspective and a haunting atmosphere amplified by eerie sound design and detailed environments. Derceto Manor serves as a central hub, filled with peculiar residents and reality-bending phenomena that challenge players’ perceptions.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

Genre: Action-Adventure Platformer | PS5, PS4 (available June 3)

This 2023 action-adventure platformer, developed and published by Team Reptile, serves as a spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio. Set in the vibrant, futuristic city of New Amsterdam, the game follows Red, a graffiti writer resurrected as a cyborg, and his crew, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, as they aim to become “All City” by dominating the five boroughs through street art and style. After losing his head, Red’s quest to reclaim it intertwines with battles against rival crews and militarized police, blending a narrative of rebellion and self-discovery with urban exploration.

Gameplay centers on fluid, stylish movement. Players skate, grind, and wall-run on skateboards, inline skates, or BMX bikes, chaining combos to tag graffiti spots and claim territory. The city is both a playground and a puzzle, with each borough offering unique environments and challenges. Players perform tricks to boost their reputation, unlocking new areas and crew members, while a funk-filled soundtrack by artists like Hideki Naganuma drives the retro-futuristic vibe.
