Rescue: Hi-Surf settled into its regular time slot with last night’s second episode of the season “Mauka to Makai”
The hour saw a flash flood sweeping a young tourist away from her family and out to deep sea, with Sonny, Em, and Will desperately searching for her.
Going against Sonny’s wishes, Em took a bold risk, placing her own life in danger to find the youngster, especially when she lost her radio in the water.
Meanwhile, back on shore, Laka found himself with the onerous task of supervising surly rookies Kainalu and Hina’s on their first day on the job.
The episode was written by Matt Kester and directed by John Wells and starred Robbie Magasiva as Harlan “Sonny” Jennings; Arielle Kebbel as Emily “Em” Wright; Adam Demos as Will Ready; Kekoa Kekumano as Laka Hanohano; Zoe Cipres as Hina Alexander; Alex Aiono as Kainalu Emerson.
Guest Cast included Sea Shimooka as Jenn Lamonde, Kaʻenaaloha Watson as Ocean Jennings, and Shawn Hatosy as Clayton Emerson.
“Mauka to Makai” aired Monday, Sept. 23 (9:00-10:00PM ET/PT) on FOX.
