The final season of animated Star Trek series Lower Decks will hit screens on Thursday Dec. 19, 2024.
To celebrate, Paramount+ has released a new teaser trailer ahead the show’s final season.
Season five finds the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos tasked with closing “space potholes” – subspace rifts that are causing chaos in the Alpha Quadrant. Pothole duty would be easy for Junior Officers Mariner, Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford … If they didn’t also have to deal with an Orion war, furious Klingons, diplomatic catastrophes, murder mysteries and scariest of all: their own career aspirations. This upcoming season on Paramount+ is a celebration of this underdog crew who are dangerously close to being promoted out of the lower decks and into strange new Starfleet roles.
The first two episode of the final season will drop on Thursday, October 24 in the U.S. and internationally. Following the premiere, new episodes of the 10-episode-long season will drop every Thursday on the service leading up to the series finale on Thursday, December 19.
The series stars Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, and Eugene Cordero, with the bridge crew played by Dawnn Lewis, Jerry O’Connell, Fred Tatasciore, and Gillian Vigman.
Star Trek: Lower Decks joins Picard and Star Trek: Discovery as Paramount+’s latest Trek-themed cancelations.
However the streamer is currently prepping new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, and a Michelle Yeoh-starring movie Star Trek: Section 31.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will also return for a third season in 2025, with a fourth season ordered.
