NBC’s ‘one Chicago’ franchise, comprising Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. have planned a 3-show storyline, the first in over 5 years.
The crossover event will air on Wednesday, Jan. 29, kicking off with Chicago Fire at 8 pm (a time slot normally designated to Chicago Med), followed by Chicago Med at 9 and concluding with Chicago P.D. at 10 p.m.
The storyline sees a massive gas explosion rocking a high-rise, summoning Chicago’s first responders to come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It’s the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends our heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own.
“Putting together what is essentially a three-hour action movie is an incredibly ambitious task requiring complete coordination across our writers, casts, crews and producers, along with help from the city of Chicago,” said Anastasia Puglisi, Wolf Entertainment Executive Vice President and co-executive producer of the #OneChicago series.
“We’re thrilled to have the best talent in every department to meet this challenge, reinforce the #OneChicago brand, and provide our fans with a unique and compelling viewing experience.”
Chicago Med stars Marlyne Barrett, Jessy Schram, Steven Weber, Luke Mitchell, Sarah Ramos, Darren Barnet, S. Epatha Merkerson and Oliver Platt. Executive producers are Dick Wolf, Allen MacDonald, Stephen Hootstein and Peter Jankowski.
Chicago Fire stars Taylor Kinney, Dermot Mulroney, David Eigenberg, Miranda Rae Mayo, Joe Miñoso, Christian Stolte, Daniel Kyri, Hanako Greensmith, Jake Lockett and Jocelyn Hudon. Executive producers are Dick Wolf, Andrea Newman, Reza Tabrizi, Matt Whitney and Peter Jankowski.
Chicago P.D. stars Jason Beghe, Patrick John Flueger, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton, Benjamin Levy Aguilar, and Toya Turner. Executive producers are Dick Wolf, Gwen Sigan, Rick Eid, Chad Saxton, Derek Haas, Gavin Harris, Jason Beghe, Peter Jankowski and Michael Brandt.
Catch it Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
