Following this week’s announcement that CBS has renewed FBI drama trio FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted comes the news that the network’s flagship series NCIS has also been renewed, along with comedy series The Neighborhood.
While NCIS: Sydney was renewed for season 2 earlier this year, there is still no confirmation that NCIS: Hawaii, currently airing its third season, will definitively return for a fourth.
Meanwhile, CBS plans to debut NCIS: Origins, a prequel series focusing on a young Gibbs (played by Austin Stowell with voice-over narration by Mark Harmon), for the 2024/25 primetime broadcast season.
Additionally, the Network has announced a Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo-starring NCIS franchise drama series (as yet unnamed) that will focus on characters Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David on the run in Europe.
“The Neighborhood and NCIS are the very best definition of a CBS comedy and drama,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment in a statement. “They embody authentic storytelling with heart, humor and family dynamics. We are proud to bring them back next season.”
