Josh Holloway will reunite with Lost creater J.J. Abrams for HBO Max’s new drama series Duster.
The new series penned by Abrams and LaToya Morgan, and set in the 1970’s southwest, will see Holloway taking on the role of a gutsy getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate whose life goes from “awful to wildly, stupidly, dangerously awful” according to the show’s loglines.
Morgan is currently a writer on The Walking Dead. Previously, she was a co-executive producer and writer of AMC’s Into the Badlands and TURN: Washington’s Spies, and a writer for NBC’s Parenthood and Showtime’s Shameless.
Duster is produced by Warner Bros. Television for HBO Max.
Holloway, perhaps famous for his role as Sawyer in ABC’s hit series Lost, also stared in the one-and-done cyber thriller Intelligence on CBS, and in 4 seasons of USA’s underrated scifi series Colony, alongside The Walking Dead’s Sarah Wayne Callies.
Most recently Holloway appeared as Roarke Morris on Paramount Network’s Yellowstone.
Duster is one of 3 new series ordered from Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions through Warner Bros Television for HBO Max.
The second series, Overlook, is a horror-thriller series inspired by and featuring characters from Stephen King’s The Shining. Overlook is set to explore the untold, terrifying stories of the most famous haunted hotel in American fiction. The project reunites Bad Robot, King and WBTV, who previously collaborated on the psychological-horror series Castle Rock for Hulu.
The third series is based on DC characters in the Justice League Dark Universe.
