HBO is set to debut the six-episode first season of The Time Traveler’s Wife this spring.
The series sets out to tell the tale of Clare and Henry, and a marriage with a problem… time travel.
Based on the novel of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger and directed by David Nutter, The Time Traveler’s Wife chronicles the love story of Henry, a man with a rare genetic disorder that causes him to time travel to various points throughout the life of the woman who will eventually become his wife.
The story also show’s Clare’s trauma and loneliness as the mysterious man who has popped in and out of her life ever since she was a child, leaves at unpredictable moments, and often at those moments she needs him most. With their relationship continually our of sync, the pair struggle to keep their love alive.
The series, which has previously been adapted to film, is now for HBO by Dr. Who and Sherlock’s Steven Moffat.
It will air on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.
The cast includes Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie as Clare Abshire, Theo James (Divergent) as Henry DeTamble, Desmin Borges (You’re the Worst) as Gomez, and Natasha Lopez (Runner Runner) as Charisse.
The Time Traveler’s wife is a HBO and Warner Bros. Television production based on the book by Audrey Niffenegger, and is executive produced by Moffat, Sue Vertue, and Brian Minchin through Hartswood Films; Joseph E. Iberti; and David Nutter.
