The Last of Us officially returns to HBO for a second season on April 13.

Today, the cabler revealed 3 new poster art pieces sporting the tag line “Every Path Has A Price,” a nod to the tumultuous events ahead.

The series returns five years after the events of Season one, in which Joel (Pedro Pascal) rescued Ellie (Bella Ramsey) from death by exploratory brain surgery, taking out most of the scientists working for the Fireflies in the process. Now without hope of a cure via Ellie’s natural immunity, humanity seems doomed.

Returning to Jackson in the aftermath of those events, Joel made a decision to lie to Ellie, by telling her she was not a suitable candidate for a cure after all. That lie, along with Joel’s decisive actions, has been fermenting for 5 years, and is set to let loose a series of cataclysmic events in the show’s second season.

HBO teases the following for the season ahead:

Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.

Season 2 will span 7 episodes, and will be available to stream on Max.

Returning cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria.

Previously announced new cast includes Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac.

Catherine O’Hara also guest stars in a role the cabler is anxious to keep under wraps for now.

The Last of US is based on the Playstation video game franchise by Naughty Dog.

The show is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and is also executive produced by Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells, with writer/co-executive producer Halley Gross.

Catch the action Sunday, April 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
