J.J. Abrams’ new drama series Duster radiates pure 1970’s vibes in a first look first trailer unveiled today.

From showrunner LaToya Morgan, and starring Josh Holloway (Lost, Intelligence), and Rachel Hilson (This is Us, Love, Victor), the gritty new series debuts on MAX on May 15.

Duster is set in the 1970’s southwest, and explores the life of a gutsy getaway driver (Holloway) for a growing crime syndicate that goes from dangerous to wildly, stupidly dangerous when a tenacious young FBI agent (Hilson) comes into town hellbent on taking his crime family down.

Also starring are Keith David, Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez, and Benjamin Charles Watson.

An initial 8 episode season will take fans on a weekly journey through to the finale on July 3.

Duster’s first two episodes are written by J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan, and are directed by and executive produced by Steph Green.

The series is executive produced by Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich for Bad Robot, and executive produced by LaToya Morgan for TinkerToy Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Duster premieres Thursday, May 15 at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT on MAX.
