ABC is placing its faith in sudsy new drama Doctor Odyssey by sandwiching it between 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday nights this Fall. The slot, popularly tagged #TGIT because of its popular (Shonda Rhimes produced) fare is still a favorite night for fans of the Network, and clearly shows ABC’s confidence in the new medical drama.
Doctor Odyssey, from 9-1-1’s Ryan Murphy, stars Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson, and sees Max (Jackson) as the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder.
ABC’s other Fall drama series is the light-hearted High Potential, which will air on Tuesdays, from Sept. 17. Starring Kaitlin Olson, High Potential follows a single mom with an exceptional mind, whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective (Daniel Sunjata).
Meanwhile, new seasons of returning dramas The Rookie and Will Trent will debut midseason, along with the celebratory farewell season of legacy comedy The Conners.
All original programming will stream the next day on Hulu.
