Following a slew of renewal and cancelation news CBS has confirmed that Sherlock Holmes-flavored medical drama series Watson has been renewed for Season 2.

The procedural, focused on the medical adventures of Dr. John Watson and his diverse team of medical sleuths, will officially return as part of the Network’s 2025/26 primetime slate.

Watson averages 6.79 million viewers each week according to CBS, with the premiere episode being the Network’s most-streamed of all CBS series this season on its streaming wing Paramount+, with 7 million streaming viewers.

The series stars Morris Chestnut, Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, Ritchie Costeand Rochelle Aytes.

Watson joins previously announced dramas Tracker, Matlock, Elsbeth, Fire Country, FBI, NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Syndey, as 2025/26 primetime returns.

CBS also plans to debut Fire Country spin-off Sheriff Country, and Blue Bloods spin-off Boston Blue as part of this fall’s slate.

Watson continues its freshman season Sundays at 9 pm ET/PT on CBS, with a finale planned for May 11.
