New medical drama series Watson will premiere following the AFC Championship game on Sunday, Jan. 26 on CBS.

The series, starring Morris Chestnut (Reasonable Doubt, The Resident) takes place six months after the death of John Watson’s friend and partner, Sherlock Holmes, at the hands of Moriarty.

Watson resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. However, he soon discovers his old life isn’t done with him, as he and Moriarty are set to write their own chapter of a brand new story.

The show is described as a medical show with a strong investigative spine, featuring a modern version of one of history’s greatest detectives as he turns his attention from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries. 

The series also stars Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Ritchie Coster, Inga Schlingmann and Rochelle Aytes.  

Watson premieres after the AFC Championship Game, Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET; 9:00-10:00 PM, CT; 8:00-9:00 PM, MT; 7:00-8:00 PM, PT)** on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+*. **(Start time is approximate after post-game coverage.)  

Watson is produced by CBS Studios. Craig Sweeny wrote the premiere episode and serves as showrunner and executive producer. 

The show will begin airing in its regular time period beginning Sunday, Feb. 16 (10:00-11:00pm ET/PT).
