Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page is the latest star to board Netflix action thriller The Gray Man, an adaptation of the debut novel by Mark Greaney, in which freelance assassin and former CIA operative Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling) is hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former cohort of Gentry’s at the CIA.
Gentry’s mission? To save the lives of the daughters who don’t know he exists.
The film is based on the first installment of the best-selling The Gray Man book series.
Page is the latest name attached to the film, following the recent casting additions of Academy Award Winner Billy Bob Thornton (Goliath, Fargo), Academy Award Nominee Alfre Woodard (Clemency, Juanita) and the previously announced Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Dhanush and Julia Butters.
Anthony and Joe Russo will direct, with Joe Russo, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely taking on writing duties.
The Gray Man is produced by Anthony and Joe Russo, and Mike Larocca on behalf of AGBO; Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Castaldi on behalf of Roth Kirschenbaum.
Executive Producers are Patrick Newall, Jake Aust, and Todd Makurath.
The movie’s $200 million budget makes it, at the time of writing, the most expensive Netflix original movie.
