Sony announced its PlayStation Plus games for May 2025 today. The lineup includes everyone’s current favorite obsession Balatro, along with Ark: Survival Ascended, and boomer shooter Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.

All three titles will be available to play for PlayStation Plus members from May 6 until June 2.

Players have until May 5 to add to their game libraries with April’s titles including RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory.

BALATRO

Genre: Roguelike Deckbuilder | PS4, PS5

Inspired by Poker, this award-winning title is all about creating powerful combinations and winning big.

This surprise indie hit from solo developer LocalThunk seamlessly blends poker-esque mechanics with unpredictable twists. Those mechanics may be simple (players are invited to play poker hands to score points and defeat blinds) but the rogue-like element elevates this game with new levels of innovation and strategy. For example, Joker cards have a variety of effects, such as offering additional chips or even changing how certain poker hands can be played. Balatro feels like something truly new, even if it is based loosely on a popular card game. Innovative, often strategically deep, and endlessly replayable, this deckbuilder leaves players feeling a sense of achievement and fun even if they’ve never played a hand of poker in their lives.

WARHAMMER 40,000: BOLTGUN

Genre: First-Person Shooter | PS5, PS4

Developed by Auroch Digital, published by Focus Entertainment, and set in the Warhammer universe, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun channels 1990’s Doom vibes (even earning the dubious honor of being dubbed a “Boomer Shooter”) as players take on the role of Malum Caedo, a Sternguard Veteran Space Marine of the Ultramarines Chapter whose mission is to battle against Chaos Space Marines and Chaos daemons. Good dirty mindless fun!

ARK: SURVIVAL ASCENDED

Genre: Action Adventure, Survival | PS5

The ultimate prehistoric survival sim has finally made its way to Playstation Plus.

This remaster of 2015’s Ark: Survival Evolved includes access to all of Ark’s worlds, including Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Ark Genesis Part 1, Ark Genesis Part 2, and more. The game supports public online multiplayer for up to 70 players, private-session multiplayer for up to 8 players, and local split-screen for 2 players.
