Last night, April 8, 2025, the gaming world turned its eyes to London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, where the 21st BAFTA Games Awards unfolded in a celebration of interactive entertainment.
Hosted by comedian Phil Wang, the ceremony brought together industry luminaries, developers, and fans to honor the standout titles and talents of 2024, with Sony’s charming platformer Astro Bot leading the charge by scooping up five awards, including the night’s top prize for Best Game.
Astro Bot, TVPulse Magazine’s Game of the Year in 2024, also won Best Game Design, Audio achievements, Family Game and Animation on the night.
Meanwhile, survival horror (also listed in our top 10 Games of the Year) Still Wakes the Deep scored wins for Performer in a Leading Role (for Alec Newman), and Performer in a Supporting Role (for Karen Dunbar), and New Intellectual Property.
Helldivers 2 scooped awards for Best Multiplayer and Music, while fan favorite Balatro was recognized for Best Debut Game.
