Following the most tense season finale cliffhanger in recent TV history, Severance season 2 has an official premiere date, and a first look trailer.

From director and executive producer Ben Stiller and creator, writer and executive producer Dan Erickson, Severance officially returns to AppleTV+ on Friday, January 17, 2025.

Much like season one, the 10 episode second season will stream one new episode every Friday through March 21.

Severance focuses on Mark Scout (Adam Scott) who leads a team at the omniscient and mysterious Lumon Industries, where the employees have undergone a severance procedure, surgically dividing their memories between their work and personal lives.

This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself.

In season two, the streamer teases that Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.

Severance stars Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette.

Notable season 2 additions include John Noble (The Boys), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Merrit Wever (Godless), Alia Shawkat (Search Party), Bob Balaban (The Chair), Robby Benson (Beauty and the Beast), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist), and Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia).
