NBC has given renewals to 5 of executive producer Dick Wolf’s dramas including Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Law and Order, and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
The status of Law and Order: Organized Crime is still under discussion.
“We understand the emotional connection our audience has with these characters and we can’t wait to bring more of their stories to the forefront next season,” said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Programming, NBCUniversal and Streaming in a statement on the renewals.
“A huge thank you to Dick and his amazing team who are the masters of producing incredibly compelling television week after week.”
“I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC,” added executive producer Dick Wolf.
“All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers and writers. I’d also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons.”
Currently, Chicago Fire, Med, and P.D. rank among the top 10 in both the 18-49 demo, and in total viewers (Live + 7 days). The 3 shows have reached over 50 million viewers across NBC and its streaming wing, Peacock, this season.
Meanwhile, Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Organized Crime rank among broadcast’s top 10 dramas in the 18-49 demo for the 2022-23 season (Live +7days), with all three shows combining to reach almost 50 million viewers across NBC and Peacock this season.
All renewed shows are slated to return as part of NBC’s 2024/25 primetime broadcast schedule.
